Uncles Games (redmond) is what every board game store should strive for. Genuine friendliness employed by experienced gamers. We sat in the corner back side of the building playing a few “demo” games in between witnessing what I’d consider the most epic Pokemon card battle I’ve ever seen. As we picked at Tsuro of the Seas; we noticed employees joining in on the Pokemon action. It spoke volumes to me what type of game store this was. The environment was inviting, the employees were enjoying their job, and that definitely impressed a bookmark in my go-to’s.
I appreciate a game store that can carry more than what is expected. For example, they carry a wide variety of jigsaw puzzles and have a generous amount of tables and seats for people to engage in some serious board game action. I’ve seen stores with fewer than enough tables and the that is usually a bit unsettling for me. I feel as if a game store should be the safe haven for games at all times and in any location.
Uncles games supports a wide selection of games and the employees seem to be very knowledgeable on their product. When we were curious about locations of certain games we were pointed in the correct direction. (Which is how we found the “demo” games). I’m personally not from Washington, but was very happy to have landed in that store in my trip across the west coast. I guarantee when I head back up to Washington, Uncles Games will be my first stop for all my gaming needs.
Final thought? The most epic dice variety of dice goes to Uncles Games.
