I am not keen on mobile gaming nor do I frequent mobile gaming often, but every once and a while I’ll play a game that suprises me. Super Submarine is a game of beat-your-score and tactical action. I appreciate the interactive composition along with the fluid movement. Control your submarine though deathly obstacles and manuever around dropped missiles. Death follows by a quick time lapse and having you thrown right back into the action.
The game is simple, avoid obstacles using your left thumb, which controls the submarine, while raising your top score. Destroy mines and bombers by charging and releasing your weapon with your right thumb. Avoid missiles all while dancing along to a uninterrupted tune and spending countless hours enjoying the game. SuS is easy to learn for all mobile users and is a great time to spend trying to kill time. I found myself playing the game non stop.
The game design centers around simple art and simple visuals. Minimal submarine luminated by three lights and an aura of blue to pin point the location of the Sub behind the thumb. The deep sea plotting the obstacle course of mines, and open area to be hit by missiles. The boats all along the 2 Dimension endless run practice all different shapes and sizes which add a nice variety to the gameplay. I was very pleased with the games art direction.
