Loot N Run; Iello’s Bluffing Card Game
Loot N Run
Iello has brought us some of the most vital modern board games. They gave us King of Tokyo (and New York), was responsible for Hare and the Tortoise, and published Dungeon Fighter (Which are all some of my favorite games). So knowing Iello is bringing to us another board game can only mean promising experiences. Iellos Loot N Run introduces a card drafting experience in a little box. In Loot N Run you want to collect 36 points to win the game. It’s simply done by drawing cards and scoring them. Unfortunately, you aren’t the only explorer out and about visiting the Great Pyramids for it’s vast treasures and rich history. Loot N Run manages to balance bluffing with press your luck mechanics as 2- 6 players will be unraveling the riches of the Egyptian mysteries.
In Loot N Run you will be doing 1 of 3 things every turn. You will begin by drawing a card from the deck and placing it in front of you hidden from everyone else, this can be treasure or a guardian. If this is treasure you will notice differed types of treasure, which will be scoring differently depending on how many of each type of treasure is in play. You may also “wake guardians”, which is where you will look at an opponents cards. If they have a guardian card, they lose all unscored cards and you get th guardian bonus. The last action you can take is scoring your treasure cards; I stated above how that works out. Loot N Run is as simple as it is fun. There isn’t many components but it seems as if the engagement can stand the tests of time. Not too mention Iello’s track record scoring a high score on the replay ability scale.
