Exposed; Pickpocketing board game of Boat Parties, and Bluffing Kickstarter Review

exposed kickstarterExposed (live on kickstarter) is a board game tile game developed and published by Overworld Games. Overworld Games is recognized by board game titles such as Booze Barons and Good Cop Bad Cop. With the success of the respective two, you can expect that Exposed wont settle for anything less than great. I think this will be a game we will definitely be seeing in some top posts soon enough. Not to mention a game we will see funding on kickstarter easily.

Cruises, row boats, and the Titanic are all opportunities to throw a party. A great wealthy one at that. But you know what happens when wealth is around? Thievery ensues! In Exposed, you are a pickpocket who has found there way onto a boat party looking for some wallets to collect a nice pit of fortune from. Throughout the game you are pretending to be a guest at this party, you’ll be sneaking into other guests pockets collecting their valuables, whether it be an equipment or some cash, you will be using it to help better your chances at winning. Don’t forget that your opponents will be doing the same thing.  I don’t think there is enough wealth to go around, so it only makes sense that you would rat them out, right?

The guest tokens will be cardboard cutouts set up into a grid which will be sized based on player count (4×4, 5×5, so forth). Each of these guests will have a unique wallet on them, which you’ll obviously be having your eye on (corner pieces have two wallets–ooooo!). You will then give a random identity card to each player and it will identify with one of the guests at the party. On your turn you can move, switch guest tiles, steal, and/or use equipment.

Exposed is a board game that doesn’t limit itself to one style of play. What I mean by that is there are different levels of strategy. You may want to go for the easier marks or may want to push for the more difficult ones depending on what you’re trying to accomplish. Do you want to push for an item or go straight for the gold? Another thing I enjoy about this is your character will stay hidden. No one will know (if you’re good bluffer) that you are the character who is stealing from others. You will want to continue to keep yourself a secret so no one reveals who you are. A lot of opportunities for a great board game.

Exposed is live on kickstarter and this board game definitely deserves some attention!
