Kids Table Bg

Kids Table was born from the passion of Helaina Cappel. The mother of two board gamers in training and the wife of a game designer and illustrator, Josh Cappel, naturally she too would enter the game industry. Together, Josh and Helaina design and publish games for adults, that kids can play too! Foodfighters was Helaina and Josh’s first go at publishing and they are loving every second of it. Helaina is also a math teacher; she has built a series of lessons in her classroom that focus on board games. Helaina has taken a very non-traditional stance in her math class, including the study of probabilities in games. Eventually, Helaina decided to take her belief in kids as game designers out of the traditional classroom, and create a place where kids’ creativity is at the core…

is a brand that I highly respect for producing games that are absolutely fun and accessible for all ages and gaming experience. I was first introduced to Kids Table when I was given a chance to review Foodfighters- A fantastic battling card game for two players between meats and veggies and now with expansions introducing factions such as  grains and S’mores, and most recently Problem Picnic: Attack of the Ants. I love the quality of these titles from Kids Table. Both games offer high quality components and very unique experiences. Each game seems to be carefully crafted to ensure that this is a game we cannot see anywhere else.

Foodfighters uses the theme of food to create components that resemble cheese, spoons, and pans as weapons against opposing factions. Panic Picnic uses a dice rolling mechanic with a picnic theme to create teams of ants that are out to steal plates of goodies for points.

We are more than happy to have worked with this team over the past few years and highly recommend checking them and their games out if you want some satisfying family and children friendly board games that you can enjoy for a while.
