We have here another interesting mix on the Card Czar party card game phenomena. Insult Your Friends incorporates a lot more improvisation to the standard seven-card hand of funny words and sayings. Instead of playing down cards in reaction to the judge’s questions, cards, or actions you will be verbally abusing your friends using a created hand of cards created by you. You will play down words such as hemorrhoid, knucklehead, or jealous and adding fillers such as “you are a..” or ” keyword lookin’..”. What makes this unique is the obviously identifiable verbal interaction between each of the players. I like seeing a party game incorporate opportunities for a card game to offer a lot of variety to its play. It definitely adds a huge leap of longevity to the games replayability. In Insult Your Friends, you will begin by having someone pass out seven cards to each player. You will then pick a card you like, and pass the rest of the deck to the left. Repeat this until you have rotated the deck seven times. The last card handed to you gets thrown in the center of the table. On your turn,

On your turn, you will pick a player and begin insulting them by throwing down keyword cards from your hand while using fillers to create fantastic insults. The players will then all vote on who insulted better. The winner grabs a card from the center pile.

My Experience and Final Thoughts

Since this is a party game about insulting your friends, I was not able to capture every verbal interaction, I figured I’d blend my thoughts with my experience to ensure I get a solid quality of information pushed on this review. I’m sure if someone had a hand of seven cards they would easily insult how lame and lazy it might seem that I used a filler sentence to extend the length of my review. Unfortunately, some may find my reviews cancer and could potentially be cheap reviews with no quality content. See what I did there? I literally played the game for the review! Bolded words were part of my seven card hand and I insulted myself using those words (I’d totally vote for myself on best insults by the way).

I feel this game does what a lot of party games do not, Insult Your Friends incorporates enough of verbal interaction and improvisation to essentially turn a typical card czar party game into a fun long lasting experience for everyone. No one person could push the same insult unless they were to get the same deck of cards and mastered the specific insult. This directly interactive game impresses a lot of fun and is available and accessible to all players above the age of 17. I played this with a group of coworkers as well as my typical game group. I enjoy the content of the cards and i enjoy who quickly players can get into the game. I forget to mention the black add-on cards that can throw a twist onto the pink cards such as adding “non-“, “half-“, and so forth.

All in all, it’s a quality party game.

You will like this game if you’re looking for a party game with a nice variety of gameplay.

You will not like this game if you are just not into the vote for a player party style games.
