Beerpocalypse is the answer to the after math of a night out with some friends. I’d even argue this BE the night out with your friends. Beerpocalypse takes place in the future, dominated by wasteland. 2- 4 (legal age) drinkers find themselves at a bar (titled beerpocalypse) run by a monster named Killgut. You and the regulars at the bar frequent monster bar battles as a pass time. These monsters are called SCUM. and run on alcohol as a fuel– which is a technology developed developed before the last war. Get enough experience and fight Killgut himself!

What I enjoy about this game is the cohesion of alcohol and gaming. This isn’t a game that punishes your actions through drinking. This game incorporates beer as a lead component in to the battles. It’s your attack power which is calculated through ABV (rounded to the nearest whole number). Located below each flight of beer is a knob indicating strength which you’ll adjust accordingly. To begin, shuffle the lowlife deck (the bar regulars) and place them on the map. Place the money, and IOU tokens on the bar vault space. Arrange experience tokens throughout the bar placing them in color coordinance. Choose a character and lay out the character mat associated with your choice. Choose your 4 beers (it’s hinted you and your friends buy your own) and pour your flight. You’ll begin by refilling tasters (if this is not the first round), buying SCUM or item cards, and equip them. Travel around the bar and challenge people to SCUM battles. Resolve and collect money and experience. Gain enough experience to fight Killgut himself.

Like I’ve mentioned before, this games focus is beer. Unlike other games incorporating alcohol, Beerpocalypse is about enjoyingBeerpocalypse your flight of beer. Different types of beers can strengthen or weaken your monster. It’s the personality distinguishing a new element which elevates the game night experience. Throughout the game you’ll be tasting your flight, appreciating new flavors, and battling monsters. I think the theme in it’s entirety is clever and the story is entertaining. So select one of the six main characters and get to drinking! Check out the kickstarter here.
